Mommy and me giveaway!
Every year I ask all the moms on my email list to nominate a very special mom friend in their life who has a beautiful story that needs to be shared. I love doing this because it gives me a chance to give back and I cannot think of a better way to bless someone than to give them a free mommy and me session. Momming is SUPER hard!! Especially with all the demands on us as women and I think we deserve some pampering girls!
This was one response that left me speechless and in awe. I could not pass up this opportunity to bless this sweet Mom of two. This message below was an email I received from her very best friend nominating her for the session. Christi is an amazing person who is dearly loved and I was so blessed to get to meet her!
The Email nomination..
“I would like to nominate my best friend, Christi Cook. Christi is a hard working, intelligent single mama with an 18 year old son, Gabriel, and a 10 year old daughter, Magnolia. Christi supports her family by driving 4 hours every week to Oklahoma to teach at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. (Being a professor may sound like a lucrative career, but we actually make significantly less than K-12 teachers.) Christi perseveres in the face of adversity every single day to give her family the best possible life. Even though Christi has a demanding career and busy family life, she somehow finds the time to volunteer in her community and speak out for important causes.
Christi, aka “Cookie,” is the girl unapologetically laughing loudest in the room; the one to look to for fun, advice, comfort, loyalty. She is gregarious and kind and generous. Writing this is making me tear up – she truly is a special person who touches so many people with her positivity and vivaciousness. She is genuinely the strongest woman I know.
You would never know this by looking at her, but the past year has been especially difficult for her. Beyond her daily struggles of supporting a family on a limited income as a single mom of two. Add to that that her baby boy is graduating high school and going off to college, her mama is getting married and moving out of state, and you’ve got a little tornado of emotions that she is handling-but still, it’s not easy. A photo shoot obviously won’t solve her problems, but having some beautiful photographs of her family will shine a bright light on the beauty of her life and family during this dark time.
I know there are many other deserving women, and I know you would gift your services to all of them if you could. I’d be grateful if you would consider Cookie and her family for this gift.”
How could I say no to that??? Say a quick hello to “cookie” and her babies.
