This last weekend we had the pleasure of being a part of Makalei and Tyler’s special day as they made the commitment to love and cherish each other for as long as they both shall live. As photographers, it is the highest honor to be able to capture these moments for our guests because it is such a special time in their lives. We feel like they are letting us in for a few hours to be a part of their family. Doing life with people during these moments is always our pleasure. Here are some things that we took away from the Reynolds wedding that we thought were special.Â
Every wedding we take has different overall feelings, certainly they are all special and happy, as weddings should be! But one of the things we particularly enjoyed about this wedding was how cordial the family was. There were many times that different family members went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. I do not want anyone reading this to ever think that is necessary, since this special day is about the Bride, Groom, and new family they are creating. However, we were still blessed by how pleasant the family was in that regard and wanted to take a moment to thank you all for it. Which leads to my next take away from Reynolds family wedding.
In life there are certain things that set others apart and make them special. I believe a servant’s heart is one of them. Now let me clarify, a servant’s heart is not some one who let’s people take advantage of them but is one that has strong enough character and confidence to serve others before themselves. I believe people that have this attribute are far and few between and will always be more successful in life. After the cake was cut, Makalei and Tyler immediately went around the room from table to table asking guests if they wanted a slice and handing out cake. I have never seen this before at a wedding. I was a little taken back that on their special day, they took the time to stop and make a conscious effort to serve others.Â
Tyler and Makalei, it was our honor to be a part of your special day and witness the two of you begin your new life journey together. We were blessed by both of you as we hope our pictures will be a blessing to you for years to come. May they bring you joy as you look at them and remember that day when you both are old and gray…..but still beautiful 😉! Here are a few sneak peeks as we congratulate this special couple who are now our friends!!
