3 Benefits to having a First Look

I remember our wedding day so vividly even though it was 16 years ago! Just dated myself I guess……I remember how beautiful April looked. I remember my family, friends, the laughter and joy that came along with the occasion. What I do not remember is having a single moment alone with my best friend (April) until the whole day was over!

First looks were not a thing back then. I certainly wish they were because that is the one thing we regret about our special day, being to busy! Today I wanted to write about some benefits that come with having a first look.

Time & That Special Moment

The first positive will always be that moment you have together. A moment for him to just admire you without a crowd! The wedding day will be busy, in a fun way, but busy non the less. The first look gives you and your fiancé time to just relax before getting in front of friends and family. We have had so many people tell us that originally they were not considering it because they wanted to remain traditional. But after doing it, having that time meant so much to them! Most say that it actually enhanced the aisle moment because they were so much more emotionally connected.

Your Bridal Party

We love our happy couples friends! Watching them be supportive on the wedding day is always fun. The tears they shed during the wedding are always so sweet and sincere. However those tears really do not compliment makeup! The second benefit to the first look is, we are able to get all the bridal party pictures done before the ceremony. Everyones clothes, makeup, hair, and attitudes are fresh! Then after the ceremony is over, your party can go enjoy cocktail hour and not have to be worried about anything else but celebrating the both of you!

Time Together & with Family

After the ceremony the only pictures left to take are the dreamy golden hour pictures of the two of you! Our favorite part of your big day is being able to steal you away from everyone for those beautiful moments. That is the last benefit. Just the two of you get too sneak away again! No bridal party, no family, all those pictures are done, just the two of you. After we are done, you can also both go enjoy a cocktail with friends because we already got all the other pictures done before the ceremony!
