Mothers day has always been a special one for me because I was raised basically by momma doing it all by herself. That’s right she was a rock star! My mother is and was a hard working single lady who made sure everyone was always taken care of. I had a really wonderful example of what a good mom looked like. I think maybe because she did too. Everyone in our family knows who we are talking about when we speak of mamaw. She was the best grandma to me and the best mom to her kids as well. They knew she loved them and no one was afraid or ashamed to speak of that.
When you choose to live one day at a time and do the best you can do…guess what? Those small steps lead to a huge legacy on your grandchildren’s children! So thank you Mom and Mamaw for being the BEST you could be!! We LOVE you!
Here is how my morning began. “You want butter on your bagel?” Jason begins the day with one of his many strengths….acts of service. Especially on holidays this guy knows how to step it up and make me feel like a million bucks! He got the kids up and fed so that I can get ready for church in peace and quiet. Breakfast time! We eat together and then I head out to church. Alone. YAASSSS. I felt pretty because I got to do my hair and makeup without kids! Haha.
This week I was asked to serve on the worship team at Heartland church and I LOVED it. Singing is my favorite ;)! Jason was so amazing in getting everyone to church on time too. He even took them to Mcdonald’s afterwards while I stayed to sing for second service. Once I was done it was off to lunch for me…alone again. Is it sad that I wanted to just enjoy a day by myself without my kids? LOL. I hope not. At least I got a little me time in I thought. Little did I know Jason had more plans for me up his sleeve for mothers day festivities.
As I am trying to figure out where to eat for lunch and possibly go get myself a pedicure I get a phone call. Jason called and said, “you need to be home by 2pm!” As it was already 1:30 I rushed through taco bell super excited to come home to see what he had planned for me! Once I stepped into the door there was a pink card for me waiting on the island in our kitchen. He got the kids to come around to watch me open it. As I giggled with excitement I opened it. After reading one of the sweetest cards ever I opened a printed out receipt. It was a Mother’s Day ALL INCLUSIVE day at the SPA! I got the ONE of the best deep tissue massages ever and sauna treatment !!
This girl was not only feeling relaxed and pampered but seriously loved on by my family. I am so blessed to have a sweet husband who knows how to make me feel oh so special on Mother’s day and really every holiday. I am also blessed to have the two most beautiful kids a girl could ask for. Thank you GOD for blessing me with such a full and wonderful life. I hope everyone out there got to enjoy there mother’s day as well. You deserve it!
