WHY I LOVE THE 4th:

Besides the yummy food and parties I think the main thing I love most is that for one day America feels like one big happy family. We remember how special our homeland is and how hard men and women fought to get us here. I love how we are out grilling with our family or neighbors and swimming in the public pool together. The community that it brings is priceless. This is the day we remember how blessed we truly are to live here in America and how all are welcome no matter where you originated from. I cannot tell you how personally blessed I feel to have so many go before me so I can have the freedom today. Lots of men and women gave up their time, freedom and even their lives for me to have the freedom I do today.

Fireworks!!

Every year my family and I get together and watch fireworks! We listen to patriotic or country music while we watch and there’s not a person that doesn’t feel proud of where we live. My favorite 4th of July memory was probably when I was a teenager and we went to a friends and played watermelon basketball in the pool. That was probably the funnest game ever! Anyone ever played it? We grease up a watermelon and then try and fight each other in the pool to make a basket. Of course the yummy food and the fireworks were part of that day too as always!
