I Call Mom my Best Friend!

How many of us can say our mom is our best friend for life? I don’t think everyone can but this is the type of mom I long to be. Not just a good mom but an EXCEPTIONAL mom.  Someone whose kids still can lean on and call best friend once they are long gone out of the house. I think the only way we can learn how to do this is to look at the moms who have gone before us and ask what did they do right?

This mom is no doubt that type of mom I want to be. You know how I know?? Read the email below from one of her three daughters. This is a mom of 3 girls and man just spending a few minutes with them taught me so much about how great she is. Words really are not even needed because the photos of her girls looking at her speak for themselves. What a role model she has been for them!  She is selfless and will always be there for her daughters to look up to. To talk to. To listen to what they are going through. She is a beautiful, kind and praiseworthy Mom and I was so blessed to witness her in action.

Here was her nomination story!

“I would love to nominate my Mom for this Mommy and me photo giveaway. She has 3 girls. Me (29), my sister Katie (25) and Nicole (23). I can honestly say we have never done a photo shoot together and so this would be such an incredible gift for Mother’s Day that she would absolutely love. My mom is deserving because she is truly the most selfless person I’ve ever met- always putting herself before others. Whether it’s for my dad, us girls, her grandson, friends or even her clients that she works with in real estate- she always puts others before herself and I want her to feel like she is the shining star this Mother’s Day! Not to mention, this year is so busy for us three girls and I think all of the attention and focus has been on all of us just due to big life changes.

My sister Katie is getting married Friday May 3 so between showers and planning it has been a big exciting time. I actually am scheduled to go in to deliver my second baby on April 9th- a baby girl Grace who we have all been praying would come for so long due to a couple miscarriages and infertility struggles. My mom has been my rock through this time and she is already the greatest Nana to my soon to be 6 year old son Cody. And then my other sister Nicole gets the keys to move into her first apartment on her own April 27 so she’s been asking my mom for help in decorating and figuring out moving day logistics, which my mom doesn’t blink an eye to help. ALL THE WHILE she still manages to work full time as a realtor and be the most loving, incredible wife- truly a saint! I would love nothing more than to have a Mommy and Me photoshoot to have a moment in time where it is truly ALL ABOUT HER and how much we love and appreciate her because that’s what Mother’s Day (and everyday) should be like for my mom. Anyways, I look forward to hearing about the winner and hope it is my Mom and best friend, Kari Schuveiller! ?”
