As I was wrapping up my story on Instagram and Facebook I decided this needed to be on my blog! I feel the need to explain prints well because so many of you have asked…why no digitals? Well it isn’t that I am not giving them away anymore, I am. I just am encouraging all my clients to print everything out so that all our hard earned work doesn’t get flushed down the drain and lost forever….ahem Myspace!!
Growing up I didn’t have but ONE album of me and half of it was shared with my sister. There were no such thing as digitals back then…I know ancient world living. Maybe cameras and printing out photos wasn’t as popular then either? Newborn photos of myself were non-existent and I am sure there was only one 8×10 of me and my sister in that same album.
Trying to figure out all the missing puzzle pieces of who I was didn’t make it any easier on me. See I did not know my dad growing up as he left when I was just three years old. I have only two actual prints of him when I was that small and one is in a very dark church with a lot of blur (ohhh if I could just go back in time and be my own family event photographer!). This is why I went into photography guys…this is my why. So many memories I wanted to have so that I would always have a way to travel back in time and remember what life was like.
We are the MOST photographed generation of our time! Selfies, food pics, vacation….everything is documented these days! So many positives about the digital age too, I am not saying it is all bad. My kids can talk to their grandma once a week and see their faces over facetime. I can send an email to someone inquiring about my services and they can respond back to me all in a matter of minutes. The downside is nothing is printed out or documented anymore when it comes to our memories. I am guilty of this too. So I have to ask myself this question…will my children’s children still use Facebook to see all of our photos? I am not leaving it up to Mark Zuckerberg to decide where these memories live…I need it to it for my children and for my legacy!
Here are some wall art gallery options below that I am still deciding on. Please comment below and let me know which is your favorite canvas wall!! Thanks for reading and letting me share my heart today!
Also, I was going to find some old photos of myself growing up but there was none…haha.
