A Perfect Sunset Romantic Shoot !!
You know you have struck gold when each and every engagement photo comes out ahh-maazing and STUNNING! We had to know more about how Jenni and Jacob met afterwards at dinner. What we learned that these two are truly beautiful people inside and out and were made for each other. We are so thrilled for them and cannot to celebrate with them on their wedding day next month!!
How it all began: Shared by Jenni!
“Jacob and I met at a charity event in Houston that he was volunteering at. I had a friend that knew a friend of his and that’s how we ended up at the same event. I spotted him at the party and kept telling my friends that he was cute but I was so embarrassed to talk to him. So, my lovely friend Sarah decided to push me into him repeatedly and/or touch his back every time we walked by him. After multiple attempts, it finally worked! He turned around and grabbed my arm (in a respectful way of course) and said “What is wrong with your friend!” Completely embarrassed, and at a lost for words, the truth just spouted out of my mouth! “I saw you and thought you were cute, but I was too scared to talk to you so she pushed me into you!”
He immediately left the conversation he was in and we began talking. We immediately hit it off being that we are both engineers and both work in oil and gas. Oddly enough, we both started our careers as field engineers in the same industry and worked/lived in the same town (Midland, TX). We did not know each other at that time of course, but traced back our lives to being basically in each others back yards the whole time! We talked for 15 minutes or so and he got my phone number and then went on with his friends for that night and I thought surely I would never see him again.
I thought I’d NEVER see him again!
The very next day he CALLED me. Not texted! Called. I was so impressed being that most people now days go straight to texting. He also didn’t play games waiting around a few days to call me. He called the very next morning. He asked me on a date and we went that following weekend. Initially, our date started off with me thinking “oh Lord, this will never work.” He was well dressed, clean cut. Ripped with muscles of a super model. I told him only minutes into the date, “I’m really sorry but I don’t think this will work out. I don’t date pretty boys.” He was horribly offended. Haha, it still makes me laugh every time I think of that moment. So the offended alpha male that he is, stretches out his hand and says “look at my hands… feel these hands!” Sure enough, I look down and reach over to touch them. He had grease stained hands with callouses all over them… I knew immediately that one doesn’t get hands like that from being a pretty boy.
I should explain the grease stains on his hands are from his favorite hobby that is building cars and being a mechanic. This guy drives a 71 Chevelle (which he built with those “pretty boy” hands), rides a Harley, and spends his weekends mudding in his jeep and atv. I grew up doing and loving these same things, making us the perfect match!
A Match made in Heaven!
After 3 years of dating, we knew that there was no point in waiting any longer. We had found the person we were meant to live life with. We make each other better and we have endless amount of dreams and goals together that we cannot wait to get started on. Some that we already have!
For Thanksgiving this past year we went out to my family’s beautiful ranch in the mountains of Arkansas. He took me out riding in the pasture (on a 4 wheeler of course since that’s our favorite thing to do together). He drove me way out by the pond and it was just us and the mountains and he reached in his pocket and pulled out a gorgeous ring. And of course I said yes! And here we are, headed to our happily ever after!”
