Giving Back

This week I wanted to start by taking a moment to say a special thank you to all of the people that are giving of their time and security by volunteering. We went by Ayden’s school earlier in the week and there were people handing out free lunches for all the kids in the area. As I watched the volunteers I couldn’t help but feel a sense of gratitude. So I wanted to just say thank you to all the people that are giving back in any way that they can. You are all heroes and we are blessed by you, no form of serving is too small.

Giving Back Our Way

April and I couldn’t help but be inspired by the kindness of others.  We talked about how we could give back. After a bit of discussion we chose porch minis! Photography is something we love and even though times are different, there are still a lot of joyful moments that can be captured. So we made some rules for our shoots that of course included social distancing and sent out an email. Just like that 40 porch minis were scheduled! We had our work cut out for us, but it was so much fun! Seeing the neighborhood families together, as families should be was a blessing in itself. But being able to capture them either posed or candid just enjoying life was the true payoff! We actually have another round to do today lol!

These days there is certainly nothing wrong with staying at home and being with family. However, I have also seen people discouraging others from trying to help. While I agree that we should certainly do our very best to be safe. I also want to inspire any of you that are wanting to find ways to serve others to do so. We have been so blessed lately and if you are contemplating something I say go for it! Be mindful and safe! But there is never anything wrong with serving others.
