Ever Considered the Mock Exit?

Often times as photographers we are asked questions like “what time during a wedding should we schedule you until?”, or “what is the best value?”. Questions like these are why we created an 8 hour timeline that we give to our happy couples. The timeline maps out what a day will look like with us.

Aside from the 8 hour timeline we almost always suggest a Mock Exit. Everyone values pictures differently, but lets face it, you can only have so many pictures of uncle Eddy on the dance floor. For those that do not need us to stay and photograph the entirety of the night, the Mock Exit is for you!

The Mock Exit

The reception normally takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to photograph. Cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter removal, first dances and speeches. After all that is said and done is the perfect time to commence the mock exit. There is no big secret to it. Really just get all your guests together and we will photograph whatever exit you had planned. Whether it is sparklers, bubbles, or glow sticks. Once we have captured that moment, you and the rest of your guests can go back in and finish up the party! The mock exit also gives guests that may be elderly or have small children a chance to see all the big moments of the evening without having to stay too far past bedtime.

What Works Best for You

Certainly everyone has different wants and needs. If you put a high value on lots of pictures to blackmail the family with, we suggest you have us there until the evening is over! We love laughing and having a good time. However if you are looking to have the most guests attend your exit and do not need all of the dancing pics in your album, a mock exit is for you!
